On Friday, November 1, 2019, the cheerleaders, poms, drumline, and students and parents gathered to send the Bartlesville Bruin Cross Country team members to state.

Head coach David Ayres noted how the Bruin Cross Country program in the past six years has earned five state championships, one academic state championship, one individual state championship, and two individual runner-ups. The teams continue to excel on the trail and in the classrooms, with the boys team GPA at 3.83 and girls team GPA 3.52.

Ayres introduced team managers Reagan Colaw and Meghan Landers and acknowledged absent manager Elizabeth Gunnell.

Two individual girls qualified for state: junior Jillian Skalicky and senior Elena Fries.

The boys team alternates are Freddy Rocha,  Nick Olsen, Charles Olsen, and Colton McCullough.

Sophomore Evan Gunter will be unable to run due to an injury. Runners at state will be sophomore Dayton Austin, junior Bryce Goodin, junior Michael Brockman, junior Max Williams, senior Nick Hales, senior James Boudreaux, and senior and team captain Spencer Hales.

The Class 6A state meet will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Edmond Santa Fe High School.

David Ayres is the Varsity Head Coach, Brett Turowski is Asst. Varsity Coach. The middle school teams are coached by Scott Vermeire and Tonya Mull, and this year the middle school girls team were unbeaten and all-state champions.
