The Math assessments in Grades 3-8 have been reduced from 72 multiple choice questions to 52 multiple choice questions.  By reducing the number of multiple choice questions, the open-ended tasks will now account for 23% of the test design which is an increase from the previous 17%.

ELA (English Language Arts)
The ELA assessments will no longer include a mode-specific writing prompt; however students in Grade 3 will still encounter two short answer questions, while students in Grades 4-8 will complete a Text Dependent Analysis (TDA).  The TDA will account for 25% of the overall assessment.  In addition, stand-alone multiple choice questions have been reduced from 18 to 9 in Grades 3-8.

SCIENCE (Grade 4 only)
The Science assessments in Grades 4 and 8 have been reduced from 68 questions to 48 questions.
