About Nikki Zylstra

I grew-up on a farm outside of Primghar, Iowa, where I graduated from South O'Brien High School.  After attending and graduating from Northwestern College, I married my husband, Carl, and moved to Hull in 2000. We farm with Carl's parents north of Hull and have three children: Brooke is in 12th grade. Bryan is in 10th grade, and Brent is in 7th Grade. We love going to our kids' activities! Go Comets!!!  Go Nighthawks!!!
In my limited free time I enjoy exercising, sports, reading, and scrapbooking.

Educational Background:

I attended Northwestern College where I received my Bachelor's Degree with a Major in Elementary Education, a minor in Spanish, and endorsements in Early Childhood Education and Teaching of Elementary Foreign Language.

Teaching Experience:

I taught Elementary Spanish for 10 years (7 years in Rock Valley Elementary) along with a variety of elementary classes.  This is my 13th year at Boyden-Hull Elementary.  While here, I have taught Elementary Spanish, 5th Grade Reading, 6th Grade Language, TK, and 2nd Grade.

Current Teaching Assignment:

This is my 10th year enjoying 2nd Grade students each day!

Other Extra Curricular Duties:

I translate for our school district in order to help communicate with our Hispanic families.
