A Little About Me:

*I was born and raised in Sanborn, Iowa.

*My husband Brian works for Exemplar Genetics in Sioux Center as the Manager of Clinical Research. We have 3 children-Jonah, Ryer, and Lydia.   Some of my personal hobbies include, digital scrapbooking, curling up with a good book, and shopping for antiques at flea markets.

Educational Background:

I graduated from Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn High School in 1992.  In 1996 I graduated from Northwestern College in Orange City with a BA in Elementary Education and endorsements in Reading and Early Childhood.

Teaching Experience:

Before teaching at Boyden Hull I taught first grade in both the River Valley and Manson NW Webster School District. I have taught at many different levels in the Boyden-Hull School District including ELL, Title I, Transitional Kindergarten, Kindergarten and 3rd grade.

Current Teaching Assignment:

I am currently teaching Transitional Kindergarten (TK) in the morning. In the afternoon I teach Title I reading.

Children who attend Transitional Kindergarten are more likely to acquire the academic skills, confidence and maturity they need to succeed in school.
The extra year of TK can benefit the youngest of students to accomplish the big academic goals asked of them in today’s Kindergarten classroom.
