Welcome to my Title 1/At-Risk Coordinator web page! I LOVE teaching Title 1 at Boyden-Hull. I have a passion for teaching children how to read, so this is great position for me! For those of you that know me well, I think I can find somewhere to fit my love of Dr. Seuss into Title 1. :)
I live on a farm with my husband and four children. My outside interests include exercising, playing piano, going to my childrens' events and spending time with my family.
Educational Background:
I graduated from Boyden-Hull High School and then went on to Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa. I graduated in 1999 with bachelor degrees in Elementary Education and K-12 Physical Education with endorsements in reading and coaching. I got my masters of education with a reading specialist endorsement in 2017. I became a National Board Certified Teacher in December 2020!
Teaching Experience:
I started my teaching career in 2000 as a paraprofessional in the resource room. After that, I taught kindergarten, second grade, third grade, first grade, and am now teaching Title 1. I have been the girls junior high track coach since 2018. I have also coached junior high volleyball and high school girls track.
Current Teaching Assignment:
I have been teaching Title 1 at Boyden-Hull Elementary since 2016.
Other Extra Curricular Duties:
I have been the junior high girls track coach since 2018. I also teach summer school for the elementary.
