About Me

I currently live in Sioux Center with my husband, Josh and our son. We are a proud owner of a German Shorthair dog named Lia. We both grew up in and around the area- he's from Rock Rapids originally, and I am grew up both in Sioux Center and in Alcester, SD. I have one sister, two nephews, and a niece who I love getting to spend time with when I can. I also enjoy reading, travelling, and gardening in my spare time. I am excited to be a Comet this year!

Educational Background:

I graduated from Alcester-Hudson High School in 2005. I graduated from Northwestern College in Orange City in May 2009 with a Bachelor's degree in English education. I recently completed an endorsement in Special Education: Instructional Strategist I: 5-12 at through the graduate program at Morningside College in Sioux City. I recently completed my Master's in Special Education, as well as  finishing my endorsement for Special Education: Instructional Strategist II: ID, also from the graduate program at Morningside College.

Teaching Experience:

This will be my sixth year teaching. I previously taught Special Education through Iowa Connections Academy for two years, and before that I was serving as a resource room paraprofessional for three years in the Sioux Center Community School district.

Current Teaching Assignment:

I am currently the 7-12 Self-Contained teacher at Boyden-Hull High School.
