Before you get started, we'll answer a few common questions:

Q: Does the team require any dues or fees?
A: No! The team does not require members to pay any dues or fees as a part of being a team member.

Q: Is it true that the Brigade has a dealer purchasing account?
A: Yes! Our team members have access to this for purchase of thousands of sport related items and equipment for prices which are as much as 30-85% below retail cost.

Q: What equipment does the team require I have/purchase?  How much does it cost?
A: We require team members to have a bump-helmet.  This item can be purchased through the team at a substantially reduced cost.
We require team members to have an IFAK (Individual First Aid Kit), the cost on this varies, but it is roughly $30 to $40 worth of materials.  Some materials are provided by the team. Team members are provided with a list of necessary contents.
We require team members to have a team compatible radio.  These can be leased through the team for a refundable amount of $75, or can be outright purchased for around $170.
We require team members to have both Multicam, and 3-Color Desert camouflage uniforms.  The cost on these varies, you can often find the best deals at surplus stores, thrift stores, or eBay.
We require team members to have a functioning rifleman platform weapon.  This cost also varies, and again can be purchased at substantially reduced cost through our team account.
These items are not needed to apply, but are required within 4 months of being accepted to the team.

Q: I am interested in being a sniper, HWS, LMG, or other specialized position, does the team allow this?
A: First and foremost the primary duty of every member is that of a rifleman. We do assign secondary duties such as sniper, HWS, LMG, UAV Pilot, Driver, etc. on a case by case basis and utilize these functions when appropriate based upon the current mission.

Q: What does the application process involve?
A: After we receive your application, you will be contacted by a team member who will give you guidance and instructions on the next steps.
A background check will be performed as we value the safety of our team members and the integrity of our organization.
You will have access to our internal forum for communication to begin familiarizing yourself with how the team functions and it's members.
You will attend official team activities as an applicant.
You will be interviewed by at least two team members to evaluate suitability for the team.
You will be observed at training and in the field by the team prior to any decision being made.

Q: How long is the application process?
A: Provided that you are diligent in completing the necessary steps, we generally make a decision about an applicant and issue a decision within the completion 2 to 4 team activities.  You would then enter a four-month introductory/probationary period with the team.

Q: I don't have much experience, do you offer training?
A: Yes! Not having experience is not a concern.  We provide the training you need to get you up to speed.  Upon being accepted onto the team you will be provided with an Operators Handbook, which is our training manual.  This will give you written instruction on the training the team receives and will be incorporated into 'hands-on' training during your introductory period.

Q: What goes on at a typical team training?
A: We typically begin at 10:00am and go until 4:00pm with a lunch break.  Training usually consists of tactical drills, glass house room clearing, marksmanship drills, and lessons involving other areas of importance.  The first half of the day is generally dedicated to learning and cementing new concepts and tactics, and the latter half is reserved for refining these tactics. Occasionally the team will engage in force on force skirmishes, however, the majority of our training time is spent preparing for national level events and equipment familiarization.

Q. Will I fit in?
A: We sure hope so!  Our team is very welcoming of new members.  We definitely do not want you to feel uncomfortable or like an outsider, we want you to feel like part of the team!

Q. What if I have other questions that aren't listed?
A: Send us an email, team@brigademilsim.com or you can post your question on the forum at http://forum.boulderairsoft.com
