Welcome to the home of PULSE Theatre Company, the student-run Theatre Company within Boston Arts Academy.
PULSE Theatre Company is comprised of current BAA Theatre students. As a company, students of all grades work in all aspects of theatre, guided by their teachers and professionals in the Boston area. Students perform, design sets, lights and costumes, work backstage, run the box office, design promotional materials and also manage this website.
With four years of training and experience in acting, directing, playwriting, design, technical theatre and production, the BAA theatre students develop the skills necessary to compete for professional roles in the theatre and/or acceptance to competitive arts programs in colleges and universities. One of BAA’s goals is to expand students’ horizons by exposing them to college and career opportunities. The goal of PULSE Theatre Company is to support the mission of Boston Arts Academy and use the skills we have learned to entertain and inform our community, as we grow as artists, scholars and citizens.
PULSE Theatre Company is housed at the Boston Arts Academy - Boston's first public high school for the visual and performing arts. Boston Arts Academy is currently in its 13th academic year and was most recently honored by receiving the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts National Schools of Distinction in Arts Education Award for the 2009-2010 school year.
