Bio:

Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year!

This is my 15th year in education and my 5th year at Capital High School. Before Capital I have taught in many different settings ranging from a small private elementary school to a state university.

I graduated from the University of Idaho with a BS Elementary Education in 2002 and a MAT Mathematics in 2004. While working towards my masters, I had the opportunity to teach undergraduate math class at the University of Idaho and fell in love with teaching higher ed courses. Once I had my Master's, I moved to Indiana and worked for the University of Southern Indiana in the math department.

Originally from Idaho, Indiana was too far away and I longed to return. In December, 2006, I moved to Idaho Falls and transitioned back to the elementary/middle school setting and started teaching 6th, 7th and 8th grade math at a small private school.

After five years, my husband excepted a transfer to Boise and we found ourselves moving...again! Even though I enjoyed teaching in the middle school setting, I wanted to teach upper level mathematics once again. Upon moving to Boise, I accepted a position at The College of Western Idaho were I taught the developmental math classes and Capital High School as one of the full time math teachers. Although difficult to wear two hats, I kept working for both locations for three years. With the changes happening to the high school math curriculum, the demands of my children's extracurricular activities, as well as my own activities, I decided to focus on Capital and no longer teach at CWI.

When not in the classroom, I enjoy spending time in the outdoors hunting, fishing, and camping. I can also be found on a volleyball court 3-5 times per week. That is, when I am not watching Tae Kwon Do, volleyball, basketball, piano or ukulele with my kids!
