Jazz Ensembles

Capital High has a jazz band and and two jazz combos. These groups are made up of student from the marching/symphonic band to offer a different style of music. The jazz ensembles are one player on a part and consist of Trumpets, Trombones, Saxophones, and Rhythm Section.  These students meet at zero hour every day to make some incredible music.

The jazz ensembles perform through out the entire year. They perform at all symphonic band concerts as well as jazz festivals and benefit concerts. Every year Capital in the fall hosts and performs DIII Jazz Festival and in the spring performs in the Gene Harris Jazz Festival. Other festivals that jazz ensembles attend are the Reno Jazz Festival, Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival, and the Clackamas Jazz Festival.
