Fall Festival postponed to November 1, 2018.

The Fall Festival scheduled for Thursday, October 25, has been postponed due to wet conditions and more rain in the forecast. The festival is rescheduled for Thursday, November 1, beginning with stew supper at 6:30 p.m. and festival at 7:00 p.m.

Board of Trustees Election

November 6, 2018 
  • General Election ordered for the purpose of electing three (3) school trustees  
  • There are five (5) candidates on the General Election ballot for Board of Trustees: 
      1. Terry Hurst
      2. Kenneth Pendergrass
      3. Trevor Hurst
      4. Holly McNeely
      5. Catherine Taylor
  • Special Election has been cancelled for the purpose of electing a school trustee for a 2-year unexpired term. James Wigington filed for this position and is running unopposed.

Oct. 9       Last Day to register to vote in the November Election
Oct. 22    Early voting by personal appearance begins 
Nov. 2       Last day to vote early by personal appearance
Nov. 6       Election Day: Polls open from 7 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.

STOPit App

As part of the continuing effort to create safer schools, each campus at Bland ISD has enrolled with STOPit.

STOPit is an online reporting tool designed to deter and mitigate bullying, cyber abuse, and other inappropriate behaviors.

Jump Rope for Heart

Bland Elementary School raised $4,611.00 through Jump Rope for Heart for the American Heart Association breaking the amount raised last year and bringing the fifteen year total to $50,998.00! The money raised will be used by the American Heart Association for research and education in prevention of heart diseases and strokes.

Substitute Teachers

Bland ISD is looking for qualified substitute teachers. BISD pays $95 a day for subs with teaching certification and $70 a day for non-certified subs. You can find the application information on our website here.

Free and Reduced Meal Application

Parents and guardians can apply for free and reduced meals online at the following link.
Student must be enrolled in BISD before this application can be completed.

STAAR Results

STAAR Results are in and are accessible to parents. TEA has redesigned the Confidential Student Reports (CSRs) that explain your child’s performance on the State of Texas Assessment of Academic Readiness or STAAR test for the 2017 Spring testing season.

The new CSR has an easier to understand explanation of your child’s performance on STAAR, including improved visuals and graphs.

Parents can access their child’s performance results online at the Texas Assessment Data Portal website using the portal code on a past year's CSR or by clicking "Look up access code" and entering the students first name, PIEMS ID # (Social Security Number) and birth date.

District of Innovation

A District of Innovation is a concept passed in House Bill 1842 by the 84th Texas legislative session that gives traditional independent school districts most of the flexibilities available to Texas open enrollment charter schools.

The Bland School Board approved the District of Innovation plan at the April 13 board meeting.

Parent Account Access School Nutrition

Bland ISD has implemented a new school nutrition program. Parental access for online payments and other account information can be found at SchoolCafe. Parents may also access SchoolCafe from the Parent Portal page of the district website.
