The Texas Education Agency (TEA) Adventure/Outdoor Education course is found under physical education, Section 116.53.

The Outdoor Adventures (OA) curriculum covers all of the TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills) in Section 116.53. 

Outdoor Adventures is a fun and exciting co-ed physical education course.  Students are taught life-long skills by using integrated curriculum of science, math, writing, critical thinking skills, and computer technology.

As a certified Physical Educator, certified Texas Parks and Wildlife Instructor, and certified National Archery In Schools Instructor I am able to provide quality instruction as well as certifications to my students.  

The Outdoor Adventures course includes the following units:

Fall Semester 

  1. Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s Hunter Education (TPWD Hunter Safety Card $15)
  2. National Archery in Schools Program
  3. Leadership Skills, Team building, Challenge Course
  4. Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s Angler Education
  5. Orienteering
Spring Semester
  1. Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s Boater Education (TPWD Boater Safety Card $20)
  2. Survival Skills and Camping Skills
  3. National Archery In Schools Program
  4. Outdoor Cooking
  5. Outdoor Lifetime Activities
Class Fee $10 per semester to cover equipment and materials used for the course. TPWD Cards are an additional optional cost, but all students will receive the instruction and exams in those units.
