Description:      CoachUp is thrilled to announce that they are awarding scholarships to three outstanding student athletes.  Applying is simple: submit an application, a personal reference, a 500 word essay, and a 2 minute video.

Fulfilling Our Dreams Health Career Scholarship

Description:       Scholarships are offered to students pursuing health related fields. This includes graduating high school seniors, community colleges, vocational/ trade schools, undergraduate, students pursuing a Master in Public Health (MPH) and students in Medical and/or Dentistry schools. Scholarship money is generously provided by The California Wellness Foundation. For students of Central American or Latino ethnicity who reside in the LA Area.

Allied Healthcare Scholarship

Description:   To be eligible for the Allied Healthcare Scholarship, the applicant must be currently accepted or enrolled into the fields of Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Assistant, Medical Imaging, Medical Laboratory Technology, Nuclear Medicine Technology, Occupational Therapy, Pharmacy, Pharmacy Technician, Physical Therapy, Physical Therapy Assistant, Radiation Therapy Technology, Radiologic Technology, Respiratory Care, Social Work, Speech Therapy, Surgical Technician, and Ultrasound Technician will be given priority. Other allied health professions may apply. Recipients must be willing to work in a medically under-served area in California for two years.

Robert W. Crawford Student Literary Award

Description:        The Student Literary Award recognizes writing excellence among graduate and undergraduate students in the HPERD fields. Two awards in the amount of $500 will be given, one to a graduate student and one to an undergraduate student. In addition, recipients are given a one-year student membership to AAHPERD.  Applicants must submit manuscripts with a focus on recreation and physical activity.

Indian Health Services Scholarship

Description:    The IHS Scholarship Program offers three scholarships to help qualified American Indian and Alaska Native candidates move forward with their education and pursue careers in a health profession. Louis Stokes Health Scholars Program

Description:     The Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, Inc. (CBCF) will award 10 scholarships to students who plan to enroll or are already enrolled in a degree program at a full-time undergraduate accredited two or four-year college, university, or technical school during the 2014-15 academic year.  The Louis Stokes Health Scholars, sponsored by the UnitedHealth Foundation, program seeks to increase the number of qualified, yet underrepresented, college students entering the health workforce.  Preference will be given to students from under-served communities who demonstrate an interest to work in their own communities.  Students currently attending two-year institutions are strongly encouraged to apply.

CBCF General Mills Health Scholarship

Description:   The CBCF General Mills Health Scholarship is for students pursuing majors related to health. This scholarship is based on your major (minors are not considered).  

To be eligible for a CBCF General Mills Health Scholarship, applicants must

  • Be preparing to pursue an undergraduate or graduate degree full-time or be a current full-time student in good academic standing at an accredited college or university
  • Be planning to pursue a degree in the fields of medicine, engineering, technology, nutrition, or other health-related studies
  • Have a minimum 2.75 GPA
  • Exhibit leadership ability and participate in community service activities
