Mapping drives on Firestone

On Windows
Go to My computer
Tools -> Map Network Drive
Select Drive: H, or S, or alternate letter

For S drive (department shared folder)
Folder: \\firestone.bgm.bu.int\departmentdrivename
or
For H drive (personal drive, must include "$" after your BGM User ID)
Folder: \\firestone.bgm.bu.int\BGMuserID$

In order to connect to Firestone from a computer that does not log on to BGM at startup, you must select the option to log on as a different user or use different credentials to connect, then provide the user name as BGM\BGMuserID in the login box.

On Mac OS X
In the Finder, click on the Go menu, select Connect to Server.
Enter the address for the resource you wish to map.

Errors after Windows 10 Updates

If the following error displays when you are mapping your H drive on bingnfs1.cc.binghamton.edu, here is a workaround to resolve the problem on Windows 10:

To resolve the error, change the following settings in Windows 10: Type Control Panel in the Windows 10 Search and then select the Control Panel Desktop app. Select the Programs menu, then in Programs and Features select Turn Windows features on or off. Under SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support make sure SMB 1.0/CIFS Client is checked and select OK. You should then restart your computer in order to apply the changes and then map or access the mapped H drive on http://bingnfs1.cc.binghamton.edu
