21st Century Governance is a core Masters of Public Administration course at Binghamton University that emphasizes the development of teamwork, cultural competence, problem solving in diverse organizations, and contract management.  This semester marks the first ever collaboration between the MPA programs of Binghamton University and Albany State University in Georgia as students from 21st Century Governance will work on a semester long project with the Public Administration, Scope, Development and Ethical Environment students from Albany State.

As climate change generates extreme weather events, more and more communities will experience the kinds of historic flooding that struck the Binghamton, New York area in 2006 and 2011, and the Albany area in 1994 and 1998. The project, "Living with Rivers" explores the tools that local governments can use to reduce the damages caused by flooding.
