Meet Mrs. Myers
Hi. I am the Counselor here at Binger-Oney. Before I became the counselor, I was an elementary teacher. I taught Kindergarten for 10 years, 1st grade for 7 years, 3rd grade for 4 years and 2nd grade for 1 year. This is my 23rd year of teaching. I am now the counselor for Pre-K through 12th grade students at Binger-Oney.
I grew up in Anadarko and attended school there from K-12th grade. I attended college at SWOSU, OSU, and USAO. I have a bachelors in Early Childhood Education. I am currently finishing up my Master’s Degree in School Counseling from ECU.
I am married to Chance Myers. Chance works at WFEC and we farm. We have two children; Hunter is 24. He received his college degree in December, 2017 and he works for King Electric in El Reno. Macall will be 21 in October, she is a senior at ECU and plans to get her Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration and attend medical school.
When I am not at school, I am usually at home working in my yard, helping Chance on the farm, or at Lake Texoma.
I am looking forward to a great school year. I am excited to get to be involved in so many young people’s lives here at Binger-Oney.

ICAP
Individual Career Academic Plan (ICAP)
What is an Individual Career Academic Plan (ICAP)?
**THIS WILL BE MANDATORY BEGINNING WITH 9TH -12TH IN 2019-2020***
The term ICAP refers to both a process that helps students engage in academic and career development activities and a product that is created and maintained for students’ academic, career and personal advancement.
ICAP is a student-driven, ongoing process that actively engages students, enabling them to:
Understand their own interests, strengths, values and learning styles
Create a vision of their future
Develop individual goals
Prepare a personal plan for achieving their vision and goals
As illustrated in the table below, the difference between the two columns is that with ICAP, the product (the plan) is intended to be dynamic and flexible, reflecting the following:
Students’ coursework, learning and assessment results
Students’ post-secondary plans, aligned with their career, academic and personal/social goals and financial reality
Students’ records of college- and career-readiness activities
source:http://sde.ok.gov/sde/documents/2017-08-29/what-is-icap
