For school purposes, fingerprinting is required to be completed by the Maine State Police and is arranged by the Office of Certification in the Maine Department of Education (http://www.informe.org/cgi-bin/doe/fingerprint.pl). The fingerprints then become part of a national database. Fingerprints from former employers, local police departments, etc. are not acceptable.
