Group Interp is part of the drama department.  The purpose of Group Interpretation is to give students experience in the group performance of literature. The interrelatedness of the narrator, the movement of the literature and character voices controls the performance. Group Interpretation encourages the students to create a scripted ensemble performance that displays their interpretive skills without the aid of costumes, make-up, set or props.  Quite simply, GI is an improvised performance.
Group Interpretation competes at both the SSC and IHSA levels.  Tryouts are always the first week we are back from our Christmas break.  If you are looking to get your feet wet with drama, this can be the perfect fit.  We need creative and funny people, no previous experience is necessary.  Practices normally run a couple of days a week from January until March.
See Mr. Dyke in room 123 if you have any questions.
