Sliding Head Portrait

For the steps first i will show you how to change the background and then we will cut a portion of face and slide it around.

After that i will show you how to add another image into your photoshop file and make them work together. The instructions on the youtube video are a little different but you can see the general idea.

Open your portrait in Photoshop.

Click on the Object Selection Tool on the toolbar

Go up to the top of photoshop and Click Select Subject.

You should have the "marching ants" around your portrait. If you can't use object selection you can select it more manually with Quick Select.

Go down to the bottom of the layers panel and click the mask button (rectangle with circle inside) and put a mask on your portrait layer. You should now have a transparent background behind your person.

Click the black and white circle icon(cookie) at the bottom of the layers panel and choose Solid Color and put a color behind your person. You may have to drag the color fill layer below your portrait layer.

On your portrait layer, right click the "mask" and click "Apply Layer Mask

Choose the Rectangle Marquee tool from the Toolbar. Drag a rectangle across the face around the eyes (or whatever you want to slide)

With the rectangle selected, right click inside the rectangle and choose layer via cut. That will create a new layer with just the eyes on it. 

Click the move tool on the toolbar and slide that layer over to the left or right.

Adding the hand:

File place embedded the hand photo.

Use the quick select tool to select just the arm and hand.

Then click the layer mask button.

Use the move tool and Control T to resize and rotate the hand.

You may do any other adjustments that you need to in photoshop.
