Pop Art is a 1950s–1960s art movement originating in Britain and America that revolutionized art by incorporating imagery from popular culture, such as advertising, comic books, and consumer products. It rejected traditional "high art" by elevating everyday, mass-produced items into museum-worthy subjects using bold colors and techniques like screen-printing.
Andy Warhol was an American artist and filmmaker who became a prominent figure in the Pop Art movement of the 1960s. His mass-produced works, like Campbell's Soup cans and Brillo boxes presented as paintings, challenged traditional notions of art as personal expression and originality. His work questioned the meaning and value of art in a consumer-driven society, while bridging cultural and generational gaps.

Some critics have asked if his work is art?
Warhol’s work could be part of an advertising department. But by displaying his work in an art gallery it becomes more than advertising
Warhol’s work challenged the art establishment but in turn, Warhol became part of it.
