DISPERSION PORTRAIT INSTRUCTIONS
Go to Google Classroom and download the Brushes from the assignment.
Hit the B key to activate the brush tool.
Go up to the top of the screen option and click the brush size
Hit the gear icon on the top right of the box.
Click Import Brushes and locate them in your downloads folder.
Open a portrait
Select Subject and when the dotted line appears click the mask button at the bottom of the layer panel.
Right Click on the white Mask and choose Apply Layer Mask
Hit Ctrl-J two more times
Go down to the bottom of the Layers Panel and select the small black and white circle
Scroll up and choose Solid Color and Pick a color.
Select Your Top person Layer and then hit the Mask button on the bottom of the layer panel (rectangle with a circle in it)
Make sure your foreground color on the tool bar is BLACK
Turn off eyeball for the bottom two layers of the person
Choose the Brush tool again (B)
Paint by just clicking on one side of the person to start disintegrating part of your person.
When part of them is sufficiently gone Hide the top layer
Go to the next layer down
Go to Filter Liquify at the top of the screen
Using the top tool (forward warp tool) Drag your image to the side and cover any areas that you want to have the “shattered effect” show up on.
Put a black mask on the liquify layer by holding the Alt Key and clicking the mask button at the bottom of the layer panel.
Turn your top layer back on.
Switch your foreground color chip to White and now paint some larger particles or glass shards (or whatever looks good to you) over the erased side of your photo.
When it looks correct save the PSD in your google drive and SAVE A COPY as a JPEG for Classroom.
