Photoshop Instructions for Calavera Skull
Click the 4th tool down on the toolbar. (object selection, quick select, magic wand tools)
Go up to the top options bar and select SELECT SUBJECT
When the marching ants show up around the skull go down to the bottom of your LAYER palette and click the MASK button. (small white rectangle with black circle inside)
The background is now transparent.
To get rid of any green on the skull: Click the adjustments palette and then click the LEVELS icon. Click the BLACK EYEDROPPER ON THE LEFT OF THE BOX and click the dark part of the skull and it should neutralize the color.
TO PLACE ICONS ON THE SKULL:
Download PNG transparent files .
Click File> PLACE EMBEDDED and choose the files you’ve downloaded.
To resize objects: CONTROL+T and pull or push from the corners.
To DUPLICATE objects: Hold down the ALT key and click the mouse and pull away multiple objects.
To MOVE objects: Use the MOVE tool ( the top tool on the toolbar)
For the Background:
You can choose fall leaves or you may honor a deceased person.
File>Place Embedded>photos of the person or leaves. You may use the BLENDING options (dropdown menu under NORMAL)
to blend the background photos together.
You can move layers up and down with CONTROL LEFT OR RIGHT BRACKET.
To put a glow around skull:
Click on the skull layer
Go down to the bottom of the Layers Palette and click the Fx button. Choose Outer Glow and slide the sliders to:
