How to make an image 3D in Photoshop
ANAGLYPHS! (HOW TO MAKE PHOTOS OR DRAWINGS 3D)
1.Open Photoshop
2.Open a jpeg that you want to make 3D
3.Use the quick select tool to select different pieces of the image.
4.After you select a section, go down to the “black and white cookie” icon at the bottom of the layers panel.
5.Choose Solid Color
For each part that you select you will change it to a shade of white or gray.
CLOSER IMAGES ARE LIGHTER
FURTHER IMAGES ARE DARKER
6. After you have colored all the pieces, make a new layer (next to the trash can in layers) and place it right above the image layer.
Go back down to the “cookie” icon and choose solid color and MAKE IT BLACK.
7. Go up to Layers>Flatten (near the bottom)
8. Go to Filter>Blur>Gaussian Blur and blur the whole thing about 3.5
9. Save this whole document as BUMPMAP.PSD or some other name that you know is the bump map.
10. Now REOPEN the original jpeg image or go up to the top of the History panel and click the original image.
{FOR A BLACK AND WHITE 3D IMAGE:} If you want your final image to stay in color don’t do the black and white steps.
IMAGE>MODE>GRAYSCALE
DISCARD COLORS
IMAGE>MODE>RGB
10. Click on Channels next to the Layers Panel.
11. Click on the word RED (not the eyeball)
12. Go up to FILTER>DISTORT>DISPLACE
13. Put in -10 and 0 for the values (may be bigger or smaller number depending on the resolution of the original photo)
Hit OK
14. When the window opens asking for the displacement PSD CHOOSE YOUR BUMPMAP FILE.
15. Go back to the Channels panel and click on the RGB words (not the eyeball).
16. Check your image with the Red/Blue glasses.
