Brief Bio:

Mrs. Johnson graduated from a small-town school in a class of about 80 students who had been together since kindergarten.  From there, she chose to attend the University of MN, Morris, simply because she could bring her horse to campus.  (Ask sometime about the Dairy Queen Drive Thru story....)  Prior to teaching in Buffalo, she taught at a small charter school in Hopkins for 5 years.  She has an amazing family, including her husband (a 2004 BHS Graduate) and her three sons.

Mrs. Johnson has been a nerd since... birth.  Her middle name is "Lea" - like Princess Leia of Star Wars.   I don't really see the resemblance...

She has been fortunate enough to experience traveling the world, including:  Australia, England, Scotland, Ireland, Mexico, Alaska, Seattle, Hawaii, and most of Minnesota.   When not at school, she loves hiking, tent-camping, reading, and writing.  She can say and sign (in ASL) the alphabet backwards, which is a fun party trick but is otherwise completely useless.

Connections to BHS:

Mrs. Johnson has been connected to BHS long before becoming a staff member here.  Her husband, brother-in-law, and two cousins are BHS alumni, and her aunt and uncle have both worked in the district.  She chose to teach at BHS because of all the amazing things the community and peers have to say about this great school.  She's a part of the Arts Magnet program because of her lifelong curiosity and creativity.
