The class website is back up and running!! We are working our way through a very challenging year and are heading into the home stretch. Awesome job, students! Over the next two weeks, we will wrap up our unit on solutions, including an introduction to acids and bases. There will be both a test and a project at the end of this unit. Following that, we will learn about what makes reactions "go" and how some reactions can proceed both forward AND backward!

SUNY Schenectady Spring 2021 Registration for Honors Chemistry students: see information and forms below. All of this is also available in Google Classroom as well. The course is General Chemistry II and the CRN is 11397. Registration deadline is 2/26.

I'm so excited to begin this year in our various instructional settings! Chemistry can be a blast (pun intended), but to be successful it's super important to stay organized. Our hybrid instructional format will certainly add a layer of complexity to the learning process, and my goal is to keep everyone - both parents and students - up to the minute with what's happening in chemistry!

While Google Classroom will remain my primary means of communicating with students and distributing materials, this website will provide a summary of each day's lesson as well as reminders of upcoming due dates. I'm also developing a parent page (see "For Parents" under "Resources" above) that will contain important information related to the course.

I look forward to meeting all of my new students soon! Please feel free to email me at lsaccocio@bhbl.org if you have any questions before our first day:)

My name is (Mrs.) Lisa Saccocio, and I'm entering my 18th year as an educator in the BHBL district. While my primary teaching area is chemistry, I've also taught biology and food science. In 2018 I achieved National Board Certification (Adolescent / Young Adult - Chemistry). I am an adjunct faculty member of Clarkson University's School of Education and SUNY-Schenectady's College in the High School program. One of my favorite places to visit is San Clemente, California.
