The original idea was to hold a sporting event to which co-curricular and cultural events might be added. The final decision was a combined sporting and co-curricular event: The Beaconhouse International Student Convention held at the Beaconhouse Yamsaard Rangsit Campus in Bangkok on January 20-21, 2016.

The co-curricular side of the event proved to be very popular with thousands of high quality entries received from five countries. The sporting event, involving four teams, had a total of  132 participants as well as teachers and officials.

The concept for the Beaconhouse International Student Convention came about after a meeting between Ms Riffat Zareen, Billy from Yamsaard Thailand and Ian Darlington.

The event showcased the diverse capabilities of Beaconhouse students. It also served to highlight the importance of sport and co-curricular activities in order for students to become all-round learners and leaders.

Winning entries were displayed at the Beaconhouse Head Office, and all participants were awarded certificates. Position-holders received inscribed medals.
