“Here’s to the [creative] ones who see things differently. They push the human race forward, and while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius, because the ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do.” (Steve Jobs)

Welcome to Mrs. Walker's

Art Room Website!

Welcome to my web page! I am so excited to be your art teacher! I have always loved creating art and find it to be a great way to reduce stress. It is my hope that all of my students will enjoy this added benefit by participating in art classes. My goal is to guide my students into becoming more creative artists. The ultimate sign of success in art is being comfortable with ambiguity (described in the dictionary as: not clearly defined, making several interpretations plausible -In the art world it is that uncomfortable feeling of uncertainty that leads to unexpected possibilities)! They will be working on the creative process, problem solving, collaborating, critiquing, and presenting their art. Developing these traits will help students to be more successful in all areas of their lives. I am also on a mission to incorporate more "Choice Based Art" lessons into what we do each week along with introducing the 8 Studio Habits of Mind by Lois Hetland.

I hope you will enjoy this site and find it a useful tool to stay connected! If you have any suggestions or thoughts about my website I would love to hear feedback from you. CLICK HERE!
