The 2017-2018 School Year is Almost Here!

posted Aug 14, 2017, 5:33 AM by Lisa Gogel

Wow! It's already school supply time and rooms are being prepped for our last year in this Grant Wood building! The summer has gone quickly as it always does. This new school year finds me in a new role as the teacher of Grant Wood's new section of second grade, 2C. I am thrilled for this new adventure. I have loved being the teacher librarian here at Grant Wood, but I am happy to know that the library will be flourishing under the guidance of Mrs. Huss.

Come visit me in 2C and have a great new school year!

Up for the Challenge?

posted Jun 3, 2017, 6:17 AM by Lisa Gogel

Ms. Gogel is challenging all Grant Wood students to #outreadMsG. Log on to Facebook or Twitter (with your parents permission or on their accounts) and search for #outreadMsG to see what Ms. Gogel is reading all summer. Then enter the competition yourself by posting which books you have been busy reading this summer. Can anyone read more books that Ms. Gogel? It will be a real challenge! Are you up for it?

Parents and teachers are welcome to join in the competition as well.
Let's get reading and posting to see who can read the most this Summer.

I'm prepared to get started. Hope you are!

Game on! #outreadMsG

Thank you! Thank you!
Thank you to all the Book Fair Volunteers!
Thank you to all Book Fair Customers!
Thank you to the PTA for putting this on for our library!
And a special thank you to Kari Susairaj for organizing and running the event!

Check out all the wonderful books the library was able to purchase with our Book Fair funds!
Plus another box in the shipping process to come!
AND each classroom teacher was given $20 to buy books for classroom libraries!

The library cannot express it's gratitude. These funds double (or in this year's case, nearly triple!) our library budget and truly enhance our fiction sections in the library!
Thank you! Thank you!
