Welcome to the Art Department Webpage!

At Begich we offer art at all grade levels, as well as a Cultural Arts class that is a mixed 7th and 8th grade class.  Here at Begich students are exposed to basic art techniques and the Elements and Principles of Design.




Sixth Grade Art Exploratory
This is a quarter long class.  Students learn about basic drawing techniques, do handbuilding in clay, and exposed to basic color theory.

Seventh Grade Art Exploratory
This is a semester long class.  Students are exposed to perspective and portrait drawing, do handbuilding in clay, have the opportunity to work on the pottery wheel, learn how to do claymation, and work in other three dimensional media.

Eighth Grade Art

 This is a semester long class.  Students are exposed to more advanced art techniques.  They create multiple self-portraits (realistic and abstract), work in watercolor and acrylic, create three dimensional sculpture, do handbuilding in clay, and have the opportunity to work on the pottery wheel.

Cultural Art
Cultural art is a semester long class.  We explore folk arts from all over the world!  Students work in a variety of media.
