Superintendent of Schools

To the Bedford Community,

I am honored and humbled by the opportunity to serve as the Superintendent of Schools for the Bedford School District.

In my eleven years as the Assistant Superintendent in Bedford, I have learned a great deal about this community. I have worked closely with the superb teaching staff developing curriculum, assessment, and instruction.  I have watched proudly as our students perform in the classroom, on the stage, on the playing field, and in college and career.   No matter where I go around the District, I find parents cheering on their children’s successes and praising their resiliency in failure. Frequently at these events, I meet other community members  --  whose children have long since graduated or who never had children in the system  --  supporting our students and enjoying the sense of community.  Bedford is a special place.

I believe we are poised to take on the challenges ahead for public education: increasing global competition, shifting enrollments, new standards, technological change, and tightening budgets.  I look forward to working on these challenges together.

Sincerely,

Chip McGee
