This district is committed to having our teachers and administrators use assessment data to influence instruction. We strive to ask ourselves tough questions about how to challenge each of our students and how to help them all meet high standards. By looking at the data openly, we expect to move beyond the skills we have already mastered so we can all grow. In the related files below, we have placed annual reports on the district's assessment program.
New England Common Assessment Results (NECAP): This link will take you to information about each school's performance on the state tests. The data on reading, math and writing is collected in grades 3 through 8 & 11 and is able to be disaggregated by different subgroups of students. There is also an annual science test administered in grades 4, 8 & 11. The website is maintained by Measured Progress, the company that provides NECAP Assessments. You can select Bedford and then select any school to view each school's performance on the various NECAP tests.
Starting in the 2014-15 school year, the state is shifting away from the October NECAP tests in reading, writing and math to a new form of test called Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBA). The SBA will be administered through computers each spring. More information on these new tests can be found here:
The science NECAP will continue to be administered each spring.
Adequate Yearly Progress Results This link will take you to information about each school's performance relative to the federal requirements of the No Child Left Behind law. The report indicates whether each subgroup at each school met the state's annual measurable objective for student performance. The website is maintained by Measured Progress, the company that provides NECAP Assessments. You can select Bedford and then select any school to view each school's performance on the NECAP tests.
