Liberty High School 21st Century Community Learning Center

The 21st Century Grant Program is funded by the Virginia Department of Education, and allows us to provide after school programs and events to enhance your child's academic experience. We will focus on:

  • Making the transition to high school easier
  • Improving SOL scores and academic performance
  • Allowing your child to make up credits at their own pace
  • Hosting career camps so your child can explore a career path
  • Helping you and your child prepare for the transition to college

We will be offering an SAT and ACT test prep course twice a week in the upcoming weeks.  
There are two courses that will be held on separate nights starting on the following dates:

SAT will begin on February 15th and be held on Monday and Wednesday nights, as well as Saturday Mornings. The ACT test prep will begin after the SAT. Course times and dates are still TBD.
This is a five week course with transportation provided and the course is free of charge. 

There is a sign up sheet in the main office as well as in Mrs. Crouch's office.  
This opportunity will be limited to the first 20 people who sign up.

Grant offerings: 

  • Career Exploration Courses are classes offered after school to allow students to investigate future career information, options, and opportunities.  

  • Dual Enrollment Courses are offered in a variety of different classes to help students earn college credit hours.  The 21st Century Grant at Liberty High School partners with Central Virginia Community College (CVCC) to provide college credit hour courses to our high school students.

  • The Edge Lab is a special opportunity for Liberty High School students who need to: 
    • Catch up on credits in order to graduate on time 
    • Jump ahead of schedule to open up your schedule for other future courses. 
    • Transferred in and do not want to be short on credits.
  • ASE (After School Extension) is a new opportunity for students struggling in specific classes to earn extra time with their teachers to work and improve understanding of content knowledge. 
  • Parent informational programs are designed to help families understand the necessary actions needed to help prepare students for post secondary opportunities of success.

  • Field Trips are designed to provide opportunities for our students to experience a variety of educational learning sites, encouraging students to explore career options and academic interests.

  • Summer Camps include exploratory career camps where students get the opportunity to gain insight and information regarding a specific career interest.
