Ms. Kane's English Classes

(Select your class on the left hand navigation bar.)

“I tell my students, it’s not difficult to identify with somebody like yourself, somebody next door who looks like you.  What’s more difficult is to identify with someone you don’t see, who’s very far away, who’s a different color, who eats different kind of food.  When you begin to do that then literature is really performing its wonders.”        –Chinua Achebe

The overarching goals of the study of English follow the Bedford High School Mission Statement: The goal is for you to become an active learner, resourceful thinker, and effective communicator.  The study of literature and the practice of writing provide the unique opportunities to experience other worlds and other lives that can deepen your compassion and understanding of the world around you.

About Ms. Kane
I am excited to be your teacher this year.  This is my tenth year teaching and my fourth year at Bedford High School.  I enjoy traveling, cooking, writing, reading and spending time with my family and friends.  I am a Boston Bruins fan.  I love to travel.  Sometimes I dabble in art--sketching and watercolor painting.  The Museum of Fine Arts is one of my favorite places in Boston.   I'm looking forward to working with you this year.  You can reach me by my email: Sarah_Kane@bedford.k12.ma.us or find me in room B208 or English/Social Studies office.
