Technology

Beckville has been proud to receive two Texas Education Agency grants, T3 and Connections, that have helped us provide laptops, software, digital content, technology personnel and professional development to our district.  Along with other federal money, bonds and local money Beckville has become a school demonstration site within the Connections Grant for the state of Texas.

All students in junior high and high school have a tablet laptop for school and home use, a flash drive and off site digital storage. All classrooms have a minimum of an interactive white board, document camera, and ceiling mounted projectors with external speakers. Classrooms also have 3-4 student desktops. All teachers have a personal desktop and laptop. Digital textbooks and planning software are also available. Professional development on all of our software and hardware is planned on a regular basis. A wide range of digital content is available to our teachers and students.  We use Moodle and eChalk, both content management sites, which include a homework dropbox.  Students have secure student email accounts and our teachers collaborate with other education professionals across the state using Project Share. We also have online classes with Novanet and dual credit courses in our English, Science, and Career and Technology departments. We also use itunes for content and allow our students to use their own personal devices for their classes. Our athletic and agriculture departments also use advanced technology software and devices.  All administrators have an iPad for their use.  The district also has a robust wireless network available on all campuses.
