Plant Sale!

posted Aug 17, 2016, 11:49 AM by Andrew Cronk

The first annual Terra Nova Plant Sale was held on Saturday May 7, 2016. Thank you very much to everyone who came by for tomatoes, strawberries, raspberries, peppers, azaleas and more as well as some craft items made by the Terra Nova students. You made our inaugural plant sale a rollicking success. Not only did we all survive the heat but we made some much needed money we will be able to put toward outfitting the school for our new Applied Chemistry and Sustainable Foods I program next year. If you didn't have a chance to join us (or did but only later realized you wanted more, more, MORE) and would like to purchase tomatoes, azaleas or strawberries please let us know and we will try to get you whatever you need as soon as possible. Also feel free to drop us a line to let us know what you would like to see available next year. A big "Thank you!" to the wonderful folks at Farmington Gardens for their donation of a trailer full of azaleas.

It's forecasting season!!

Forecasting officially starts at most schools February 10th. If you would like to get a head start on forecasting to attend Terra Nova next year the online application is now available. You will still need to make sure you select the Terra Nova courses on your forecasting sheet under the science options. If you have any questions about whether our classes are a good fit for you (or about anything else TN related) please feel free to email our student ambassador here. We hope to be cooking, building, growing and learning with you next year.

New Course: Applied Chemistry!

posted Dec 30, 2015, 10:44 AM by Andrew Cronk   [ updated Dec 30, 2015, 10:45 AM ]

We are very pleased to be able to offer another option for the 2015-2016 school year - Applied Chemistry! This class is designed for sophomores who are looking for a very hands-on option for earning their chemistry science credit. Applied Chemistry focuses on the chemistry of food and is co-taught alongside our Sustainable Foods class. To enroll, submit an application with your forecasting form in February. For more information, check your home high school's Program Guide.
