Launching Remote Learning

    Launching Remote Learning

with our BCG Families and Students

BCSD is now shifting from Act of God Days to Remote Learning Days. Today is the first day of the BCSD Remote Learning Period. Just like the beginning of any new learning time (like the start of a school year, for example), we are focused on connecting with our students/families and establishing routines/procedures for how learning will occur. Today, Tuesday, we are providing an overview of our Remote Learning Plan and hosting a Community Time for each of our classes.  Tomorrow, we will dive into the academic learning of our Remote Learning Boards, and we will be here to support you!

Things you need to know:

    • Here is the Remote Learning Board Template . It will be filled in with assignments for each day.  Students must complete the lessons for ELA and Math. The other columns are optional. Students should spend a total of 60 minutes daily completing ELA and Math school work.

    • Each class  will have a daily virtual Community Time through Zoom , as I have stated in my previous email.  This will occur every morning at 11:00.. Please let me know if you did not get the email or need the url link resent.  I have also posted it on my Google classroom page, which your child should be able to access. If not, here is a link to the page:  I will be taking attendance to keep track of who I am connecting with.

    • Please let me know if your child needs  logins/passwords for any programs reflected on the Remote Learning Boards.  I will send them to you individually.

    • Other than needing passwords to programs, if you have any difficulty with a “district-issued” chromebook, please use the following link to request help: Technology Help Desk: Student/Parent Support .

With this being a stressful time for all,  just do your best. Give yourself and your child some grace. No one expects you to be a homeschool teacher.   Try to have fun together, take a nature walk, cook together, learn to tie your shoes… “This too shall pass.” “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. “

In Education,

Miriam Moore

*Remote Learning Boards will be posted on the BCSD website on Tuesday, 2:00pm*

PLease visit the district website to access the optional E-learning board choice the district has created for students to maintain a continuity of learning.  Please know that students can also go to my "Learning Links" tab to review any skills we have learned already this year.  Remember to take time to enjoy one another as a family.  Board games. jigsaw puzzles, and playing cards have come out of my closet. This is a great time to reconnect. Dojo or email me if you have any questions.
