Clay and 6th Grade

We have been working hard on planning and building our clay totems. This year students were able to make their totem into a pencil holder or mug to bring more function to their piece. Learning how to build new forms has been a fun challenge. The kiln is being loaded and will be fired for the first time next week. After the totems are bisque fired we will be able to glaze them and then do a glaze firing.

Yes we get messy, that is one of the many reasons art is so much fun! : )

Making sure to score & slip and blend the clay together so that the snout will stay in place.
