Many of the Pop Art images have been uploaded to our website. Take a minute to look at all of the hard work and awesome artwork our students have been creating. Not all of the photos have been uploaded on yet. More to come later, check the site often for updates! You will also get an email when your students work has been uploaded.
There are two types of portraits in the complementary color portraits gallery. One is done by mixing tints and shades and using acrylic paints. The other was taken from the digital pop art portraits and texture plates were used to add texture with a watercolor resist. Both focused on learning about complementary colors, which are colors that are directly across from each other on the color wheel.
Students also made a list of ten adjectives that their friends and family would use to describe them. We used pencil to outline our faces and facial features. Then pen and permanent markers were used to write the adjectives on top of the outlines or inside the lines. Students also used words that they would use to describe themselves.
Students looked at the artwork of Michael Keck and took inspiration from his work. We used paper, clear acetate, glue, permanent markers, and our fingers for ripping to make these works of art.
