ArtPrize Field Trip

Friday was such a wonderful day! Our lucky lottery winners were able to come along on the ArtPrize field trip. This year we were lucky to have beautiful weather. Many of the artists were standing near their art and students were able to talk to the artist about their work. We visited St.Cecelia Music Center, UICA, GRAM, Gerald R Ford Museum, and GVSU. We also saw artwork as we walked from venue to venue.  If you were not on the trip, I hope that you take the time to go and visit downtown Grand Rapids and the hundreds of artworks that will be on display until October 9th! Here are a few photos of our ArtPrize trip! Part of the cost for transportation was provided from a grant provided by the Arts Council of Greater Grand Rapids.

Students listened to the music ArtPrize entries on ipods.

These sculptures were painted by children.

We were also lucky enough to have our principal Mr.Trout stop by!
Mr.Amo our gym teacher also came along as a chaperone!

Many students had the experience of being on TV for the first time.
One even made eye contact with Terri DeBoer!

Lunch on the Grand River.

Meeting one of the artists!
