There's a hum in the air! Downtown Grand Rapids is buzzing with people who are excited to see art! Hundreds of venues are hosting artists for the next three weeks for the art competition of ArtPrize.

We were able to go on a field trip today! Because of a grant from ArtPrize to help with transportation we were able to spend the entire day downtown. We saw sculptures, paintings, video art, and much more! One of the events we attended was at Kendall College of Art and Design, where we learned how to use different parts of our brain to look at art. We even got to see a real sheep brain as an example! One of the venues named High Five, was kind enough to open their doors to us before their normal opening time. We got to explore the art there without any other people around. Thanks to the support of our parent volunteers we had a safe and successful trip!
If you get a chance to spend time downtown you will not regret it, if you miss out, you will. : ) I hope everyone takes the time to enjoy and appreciate this excellent event that we are so lucky to live near.
