  • Congrats to our school Spelling Bee winner, Seth Richards!
  • Third graders Abby and Maisy Cook reported the weather and did the "cabbage patch dance" on WDBJ7.
  • Our talented Chorus members!
  • Fabulous 5th Graders!

  • We enjoyed Read Across America Week!  We read outside with our sunglasses and beach towels!  We also dressed up like our favorite book characters!

  • STEM Activities:  Third grade made "lightsabers"!  The force is strong here at Troutville! 
  • We learned a lot and had a BLAST at our PTA STEM Night!  Thank you to everyone who helped out with this special event!
  • 5th grade celebrated Pi Day by finding diameter, radius and circumference of items at stations.

    TROUTVILLE TIDBITS  - Mid May Updates 2016


    CHANGE IN TIME FOR ARTS NIGHT – Thursday, May 19

    • 6:30 – 7:00 PM:  We will open the main building for families wishing to view the outstanding artwork our students have done this year.
    • 7:00 – 7:40:  Our chorus and third graders will provide a lovely musical program for everyone’s enjoyment. 
    • Note:  There will be NO bake sale following this event
    • The main building WILL NOT BE OPEN AFTER the musical program.  Student art work will still be on display on Field Day.


    FIELD DAY  - Friday, May 20 - Important Information

    • Please have your student put on sunscreen PRIOR to coming to school.  Sunscreen cannot sent to school or be applied at school.
    • Please Note: One of our field day activities will have your child getting a little wet.  We will not be changing clothes for this activity.  If you have any concerns, please call Ms. Crush for more information.
    • Students have a special lunch on Field Day, pizza & dessert are provided by our AWESOME PTA.  Please contact your homeroom mom if you want to help with lunch.
    • Volunteers are welcome on Field Day – please contact Ms. Hart if you are willing to help.

    AWARDS ASSEMBLY - May 24: 9:00

    • Students in K-5 will be recognized for attendance and citizenship
    • SCA, Spelling Bee, Presidential Awards will be presented
    • 5th Grade and D.A.R.E. Graduation
    • Please share this information with any of your family members who may plan to attend
    • This is the LAST STUDENT DAY of 2015-2016 school  year!
