Current Events

  • Here is the latest Tuesday Note with important announcements and dates!
  • Tues. Note 11/10/15

I will be providing Tuesday Note information in a monthly, rather than weekly format in the future.  Information is provided through this email and our TES PTA Facebook page.

    • When necessary, I will provide short reminders & updates through email and/or text more often.
    • If you know of anyone who has not yet signed up to receive emails, texts and calls from our school, please encourage them to do so.  Custodians can call the office to receive instructions for setting up the Blackboard Connect accounts

A HUGE “Thank You” to Rachel Childs who gave our Tyler’s Treasure a good cleaning! She is still working on a few things to help beautify the tank.

We may have a found someone to clean the tank on a permanent basis. This comes from a parent referral. Thank you all for helping preserve our fish tank. Our students are very appreciative! They even remarked on the clean tank!,

We are excited to offer a Veteran’s Day program on Wednesday, November 11th, for our students and to honor local Veterans.

    • If you know any Veteran’s who would like to participate, please ask them to call Lee Minnix at 819-6335 to sign up so that they can be recognized during our program.
    • We are asking our students to wear red, white, or blue for our special program

If you would be interested in sharing your thoughts or ideas for improving our school and learning about our academic plan for continued improvement, you are invited to attend our Principal Advisory Meeting on Tuesday, November 17th from 2:30 – 3:30 PM in Troutville’s conference room.

Please be advised that we will dismiss at 12:30 on Wednesday, November 25th.  Schools will be closed on Thursday and Friday.  If necessary, please be sure to make arrangements for your child on the early dismissal day.

    • Please remember that each visitor must buzz in to come to the office. Only staff members should open the door for anyone coming into the building.
    • If your child is tardy and you arrive between 7:50 AM and 8:00 AM  to check in your child, please be aware that we observe a moment of silence. Please don’t ring the bell multiple times during this moment.
    • Thank you for helping us keep your child safe at school and being respectful as you enter.

As cold weather arrives and students bring hats and coats to school, I would like to provide you some information to help prevent the spread of head lice.  Please see the attached information from the CDC and remind your child not to share head coverings or hair instruments/ornaments and not to touch other the hair of other students.

The holiday store will take place on December 9,10, &11.  This store gives the students an opportunity to shop for family while they are in school.  They will be allowed to purchase gifts for those living in the household and immediate family.  All purchases will be $1.  We will be sending more information home closer to the store opening date. This is meant to be a fun event that teaches students the joy of giving, but is not meant to meet all of their holiday shopping needs.

We are in need of volunteers to shop, wrap, setup, donate wrapping paper/bows/name tags.  Please contact Christine Davidson if you are able to help on any level big or small!  It is great fun! Email -cmkowal@yahoo.com or phone - 966-5614.

Get into the holiday spirit by joining us on Tuesday, December 8th for a performance by our 5th graders and school chorus.  Don’t miss out on your opportunity to participate in “The 12 Days of Christmas” performed in a fun, engaging, and unique manner!

Botetourt County Public Schools has openings for full-time school bus drivers.  Applicants must be able to obtain a CDL license and pass a criminal background and drug test.  We offer an excellent benefits package, a competitive salary, and a monthly $100 bonus for perfect attendance. Substitute drivers receive $75 per day. Paid training is provided.  Please call 540-473-8259 or apply online at www.bcps.k12.va.us
