Meet Mrs. Howland

Hello!  My name is Olivia Howland.  I am absolutely ecstatic to begin this school year with you all!  I am incredibly passionate about education and helping students reach their full potential.

I was born and raised in Panama City, Florida.  Growing up, I was a student at Lynn Haven Elementary School, Mowat Middle School, and Mosley High School.  I graduated from high school in 2010.  Afterward, I attended Gulf Coast Community College where I received my Associates degree in 2011.  I, then, moved to Tallahassee to attend Florida State University (although, I am a HUGE Florida Gators fan).  After three years at FSU, I received my Bachelors degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Psychology in May of 2014.

Apart from teaching, I love spending time with my incredible husband, Aaron, our dog, Aurora, and our cat, Milo.  I love my little family!  We LOVE to travel and soak up as much of this awesome Earth as we possibly can.  Whether it's a short weekend trip or traveling to another country, we're up for anything.  We also enjoy doing trivia together and spending time with our family.

As far as other hobbies of mine go, I absolutely love to read.  This is something that I enjoy doing both inside and outside of the classroom.  With that being said, I love to be able to instill that same passion for reading that I have in my students as well.  Oddly enough, though, my favorite subject is math.  In high school. I was a part of Mu Alpha Theta and was part of a traveling math team.  In my spare time, you can usually catch me researching new information for myself or attempting to learn a new language (I am currently attempting to master French).  Simply put, I love to learn!

I am unbelievably excited to be spending my fourth year of teaching with you all.  I feel blessed to be a part of the Bay Haven family and cannot wait to start this journey with you.  I know that we are going to have a wonderful year together!

Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions, comments, or concerns you may have!
