My experience as a teacher began while in 4-H in the Dog Program as leader and trainer.  While working on mpre-requisite courses at North Seattle Community  College I began tutoring mathematics, further solidifying my interest in becoming a math teacher.  I finished my Bachelors Degree in Mathematics for Education at Central Washington University as well as obtained my teaching certificate.  I began teaching in the Everett School District while working on my Masters in Science Education (Physics) before moving to Clark County in 2012.

I continue to show dogs as a hobby, and my husband and I share our lives with 3 dogs (2 Golden Retrievers and 1 Finnish Lapphund), 3 cats, 2 goats and (too) many Ducks and Chickens.

I am excited to be continuing my education as a teacher by working towards my National Board Teaching Certificate and am actively engaged in learning and implementing the Common Core State Standards.

My goal for my classes is to show students that math
ematics is a viable and effective tool for solving problems that we encounter in the world.
