The Genoa Street and 10th Avenue Intersection will be closed on Friday, Aug 7 and Monday, Aug 10 rather than the previous dates of 8/4 and 8/5 due to delays.
There will be limited street access around Nitschmann Middle School on Genoa Street & 10th Avenue intersections for the following dates:
8/4 -8/5 = Intersection closed for sewer connections
Week of 8/10 = Intermittent Intersection closures for water connections
8/17 = Intersection closed for gas connections
The north end of our existing NMS cafeteria was demolished today following the installation of the new exterior wall. While this shortens our cafeteria, it also makes room for the new foundation for our new school. The new foundation is too close to the existing school, so this permits the installation of the new foundation.
The Bethlehem Area School District held the Groundbreaking Ceremony for the new Nitschmann Middle School on Wednesday, May 13, 2015.
The first week of traffic changes has gone fairly smoothly, with a few small changes for the upcoming week. Please contact our Main Office at 610-866-5781 or email our principal Mr. Mayes with any concerns or questions.
The BASD School Board approved to accept the construction bids and financing plan for constructing the new Nitschmann Middle School.
Dear Parents & Guardians,
This is a reminder that I will be holding a general parent meeting on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at 7pm in the auditorium regarding the upcoming construction project at Nitschmann Middle School. The construction project begins on Monday, May 4, 2015.
The Nitschmann Parent Group will be meeting at 6:30pm to talk about upcoming events and programs for this year and next year in the auditorium. This is a great time to leave a little early and catch up on everything going on with the NPG!
Make arrangements to join us in the Auditorium to review our construction phasing plan, with a focus on parking, traffic patterns, arrival/dismissal procedures, and impact on activities.
Finally, the irony of holding this assembly on April Fools Day is to be expected. I can assure you that this meeting will be held and we will be discussing how this project will affect all of us during the next three years. If you have neighbors who may have missed our March 4th meeting or neighbors who have upcoming new 6th graders, please invite them also to attend.
I look forward to meeting with you on Wednesday, April 1.
Mr. Mayes, Principal
