Field Hockey Scholarship Opportunities.

At the Division 1 level, 79 universities have field hockey teams. There are 12 scholarships available per team to be divided among the players. A total of 948 scholarships are offered in Division 1.

At the Division 2 level, 26 universities have field hockey teams. There are 6.3 scholarships available per team to be divided among the players. A total of 163.8 scholarships are offered in Division 2.

There is over $161 million dollars of scholarship money available for women to play field hockey in college. 

What are you odds of receiving a scholarship in Division 1 if you make the team?

If you are lucky enough to be one of the 398,351 high school field hockey players to land one of the 1,769 spots on a Division 1 team, then your odds of receiving a scholarship significantly increases.  There are 912 scholarships given out to the 1,769 field hockey players.  That is over a 50% chance of receiving one…if you are good enough to make the team.

How many Division 2 Field Hockey Scholarships are available?

There are only 26 teams in Division 2 who each have 6.3 scholarships available for deserving field hockey players.  That is less than 164 scholarships in total for the 398,351 high school field hockey players.

16 of 30 athletes on the US Women's National Team are from Pennsylvania.

Make sure you have all equipment at the first day of tryouts, August 15th:
Mandatory equipment: Shin guards*, Hockey Stick*, Goggles*, Cheats, Mouth guard**, Weather appropriate clothing, Water or Sports Drink Bottle
Optional: Hair ties, Gloves


*Nitschmann does supply this equipment but most equipment is used and limited in number. Please contact me if you would like to reserve equipment and I will do what I can to set it aside.
**Nitschmann has new mouth guards at the cost of $1 to the athlete.

Parents will be responsible for transportation to and from Kings Mansion Park until school starts. Once school starts BASD/Nitschmann will be providing bus transportation to Kings Mansion Park BUT NOT BACK TO NITSCHMANN. Parents will be responsible to pick up athletes from the field at the conclussion of practice each day.

Games will be played at Liberty High School's Lafayette Field400 block of E. Locust St. in Bethlehem. Transportation will only be provided from Nitschmann to Lafayette Field. Parents are responsible for picking up athletes after the HOME games at Lafayette Field.
