Welcome to a new school year!
How much everyone has grown over the summer! I am looking forward to a great year with everyone!
Let me introduce myself:
My name is Mrs. Anne Thompson. This is my twenty-eighth year in the Burlington Area School District, fourteen of which were in first grade. This is my fourteenth year teaching at the second grade level. I looped with three of my first grade classes to second grade.
I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 1989 and with my Masters in Elementary Education from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in August of 1994. For two years I was out of the classroom and I was working as a Mobile Technology Mentor for the district serving all district staff in the areas of learning technology hardware and software and helping teachers integrate it into their lessons. The Promethean board has been an important part of our classroom. Come and
visit us to see it ANYTIME! :) We are working hard to move towards a paperless classroom. This year you will see your child use many online websites and activities for classroom work. Feel free to log in with them at home at anytime to see what they have been up to. They will have lots of work saved in their Google Drive to share with you as well.
On a personal note, I love to craft, read, and love educating about natural health options, specifically essential oils. If you are interested, please let me know and I can meet with you or invite you to a class!
I hope to make this year a very positive one for your child, so your help will be invaluable to me. Open communication lines between home and school can help make the year go so much more smoothly for all of us.
Thank you for visiting.
