The following teachers - Annah Houston, Abbie Pappas, Carol Rosinski, Siobhan Ryan, Maria Simpson, Deidre Swan, and Meryl Sweeney received award money to complete projects to enhance learning at CES. Projects include: author visits, author Skype talk, a book buying field trip, materials for a supplemental reading program for reluctant readers, books for new book club offerings, headphones, and a visit from Bob Stuart from Maine College Circle - a scholarship program which promotes the benefits of a college education.

This year over $2,000 was awarded! A big thank you to the CES community for your membership fees, Tiger Gear purchases, fundraising support, and donations to the PTSA. Without you, these grant awards would not be possible.

Welcome!

The Conners Emerson PTSA is a group of parents, teachers, and students working together to support and enrich our school community. The PTSA meets on the first Thursday of each month from 3:30-4:30 in the Emerson library. Meeting attendance is not mandatory and volunteers may be as involved as schedules allow. Being a member of the PTSA is a great way to meet people and know what is happening at Conners Emerson! Become a member today - attend a monthly meeting or email ces.ptsapresident@gmail.com! Annual membership is $5.

December Fundraiser

posted Dec 5, 2017, 6:35 PM by CES PTSA

Are the Holidays stressing you out? Cooking, wrapping, many parties to attend and then you just realize: "Oh snap, I didn't get anything for the teachers!"

This year, the PTSA  makes  it easy for you.

What better way to show your appreciation to the staff of the school by supporting the PTSA?

With the money the PTSA raises, we can offer teachers and specialists the things that fall outside the school budget.

Think:            * 3D printer for Technology

                        * Sound system for music

                        * Beanbags for Language classes for cozy reading

                        * Care bags for Guidance

                        * Online subscriptions for educational software

                        * Headphones for the students to use with Dreambox in the class

                        * Supporting visiting authors and artists to come to the school

                        * New books for the library

                        * Arts and craft supplies

                        * Board-games for the Resource rooms

                        * Subscriptions on magazines or online resources

And many, many more things. Each year, the PTSA has organized a big fundraiser through Meadow Farm, having students sell gifts to friends and family. This year, due to lack of PTSA volunteers and a decrease in revenue from this type of fundraiser, we have not been able to set this up. So this Holiday Fundraiser will be our big fundraiser for this year.

We are counting on you and to help you, we even provide a gift label for you! (you can find it on the website, using this link)

Happy Holiday from all of us at the PTSA and once the gifts are unwrapped, the food has been eaten and the family returned to their various homes, we hope you will join us at the PTSA, where you can make a difference (that seems a great New Year's resolution, right?)

The Conners Emerson PTSA

(You can submit your donation to your child's teacher or at the main office)

CONNERS EMERSON science fair(1).jpg

The Conners Emerson PTSA invites all students in grades K-4 to participate in this fun and educational event!  This is a science fair and not a competition.  Each entry will receive a certificate of participation and an opportunity to do a live demonstration.  The PTSA has provided a list of resources to help you get started (please see below).  Choose a topic with your family that interests you and find an activity/experiment to go with it.  All projects are to be completed outside of school.  Please include a brief summary and/or procedure used to prove your scientific principle.  Displays are to be brought to the school anytime after 4:00PM the day of the fair.  Projects will be given a 3 ft. x 2 ft. space unless prior arrangements have been made.

Your safety, and that of the community, is the number one priority.  With that in mind, please do not include the use of projectiles, explosives, or caustic chemicals in your experiments. NO shell fish.

BACK TO CLIPPING!

posted Mar 19, 2015, 7:46 AM by CES PTSA

My name is Edith Schriever-Korstanje and I am the Treasurer for the PTSA. As of now, our school will be participating in the Box Tops for Education™ program. Clipping Box Tops is an easy way for you to help our school buy what it needs. Box Tops are each worth 10¢ and they quickly add up to real cash for our school. This school year, our school’s earnings goal is $500.

To help our school, just look for pink Box Tops on products, clip them, and send them to school. For more information on the Box Tops for Education program, including a list of participating products and our school’s progress, visit www.BTFE.com. Be sure to become a member to receive exclusive coupon offers and recipes and learn about extra ways for our school to earn.

I hope you’re excited for everything we can do this year with Box Tops! If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me at cesptsa@barhbr.com.

I’m here to make our school’s Box Tops for Education program a huge success this year. Thanks for your help!

Edith

Good news: the PTSA will start collecting Box Tops for Education. You can find Boxtops on various products and collecting these will be easier than ever: just tape (never staple!) the boxtops to the fun collection sheets that will be provided to your child. Each boxtop is worth 10 cents and as you can imagine, this may add up! So start clipping and collecting for fun stuff for the school! More informations on this website:
