1. Will 7th graders be competing against 8th graders?
-Typically, no. Meets will be held as 4 individual teams (7th girls, 7th boys, 8th girls, 8th boys).
2. What time will the meets get over?
-It depends on many factors.
-At home it should be some where around 6:30 – 7:00.
-Coaches will send out a Remind message when the meet is over and we have boarded the bus. We encourage students to call/message home if they have a cell phone.
3. What should my son wear to practice/meets?
-Dress in layers (name on tags). Some practices are cold and a sweatshirt and sweat/wind pants for warmth are nice to have.
-Uniforms tops are provided and are to be worn for meets only.
-Shoes: Spikes and racing flats not recommended. Cross training/Running shoes will be good to have
4. What will my son or daughter compete in & when will they know?
-Usually they are scheduled for 2-3 running events and/or 1-2 field event for each meet.
-Students will know when they sign-up for events.
-Usually 2-3 days in advance (unless filling in for an absence or injury).
5. Can I get closer to watch field events?
-Usually you’re allowed to be by the pits (throwing/jumping area)
-At home: Discus & Shot – walk along outside of fence & stand along fence near pits.
