Ballard High School
Darren Herrold is a Social Studies Instructor at Ballard High School. Throughout my years, I have taught US History, Sociology, Government, Economics, Iowa History, Constitutional Law, and Political Assassinations. For the 2018-2019 school year, I am an instructor of US History. Each summer, I travel the United States to prepare lesson plans and gain lesson ideas. These travels are arranged through internships or workshops. I enjoy working with fellow educators to make our students excited to learn and to make our classes enjoyable and exciting.
In addition to teaching, I am the Junior Class Sponsor, which entitles me to be in charge of prom. For extra-curricular activities, I am an assistant varsity girls basketball coach/head freshmen coach. I am also the assistant boys track coach, and I coach our distance runners. In my free time, I enjoy biking, running, and traveling America.
