Homeschool Liaison

If you are a homeschooling family in the Ballard Community School District, I'm here to help you! I oversee Ballard's Home School Assistance Program which provides resources, enrichment activities and support to families who choose to homeschool their children. I also assist families who have dual-enrolled students in any of our four buildings. If you are new to homeschooling or a veteran home educator, my hope is your collaboration with Ballard is positive and helpful.

I taught four years in 1st and 5th grades at College Community Schools In Cedar Rapids followed by three years of 4th and 5th grades at Johnston Community School District. After becoming a stay at home parent a few kids in, I began to tread the waters of homeschooling my children. I understand the unique worlds of both public and home education.

We have five children and are National Park adventure junkies. We love to opt outdoors to camp, downhill ski, hike, paddleboard, travel or simply explore the county parks in our Ballard backyard. In my spare time I enjoy acrylic painting, reading books about overcomers who beat the odds, taking long walks and am active in leadership in our church.

Please feel free to contact me at the information below if I can be of assistance to you,

Cory Miller
